Preparing for a cake smash? I mean doesn't the baby just dig into the cake ? Most times the baby does LOVE the cake , how ever sometimes its a little sweet for them if it their first time trying sugar . I always suggest a few weeks before a cake smash to get them to try a cupcake , or a piece of a cake a few times so they can get a bit more use to the sweetness and really dig into that cake ! One of my first questions I ask in my questionnaire when booking is what theme you would like ? I love creating , this is one of the things I enjoy about cake smashes the most ( besides watching those cute little fingers dig into the cake and fill up their cheeks with cake ) . I work with the parents and we come up with the ideal session that suits your family. Ive had parents that are fire fighters , and we have done a fire station set up which is sentimental , or you can just choose to keep it simple with something you love , or they love its totally up to you! Once we establish a theme , we get into the details such as what the cake is going to look like or what will baby wear. With my top package , I include the cake and outfit so you don't have to buy anything extra and get to just show up! When is the best time to book a cake smash? I recommend booking 2 - 3 weeks in advance before their birthday to make sure I get your images back in time for their birthday ! One other thing to think about is when baby will nap , Its always best to book the cake smash after their good nap and generally when they are happy . Im always happy to accommodate to work with their schedule , as babies have their own rules! I hope that gives you some insight on preparing for a cake smash! Comment below if you have any other questions for me!
